Cast on 94 stitches


Start with a garter stitch border - knit 10 rows

11th Row:       S1, knit across row
12th Row:       S1, k5, *p4, k2, repeat from * to last 4sts, k4
13th Row:      S1, knit across row
14th Row:      S1, k5, p1, k2, *p4, k2, repeat from * to last 7sts, p1, k6

Repeat the last 4 rows until the blanket measures the length desired

Complete with a garter stitch border – knit 11 rows

 
Cast off knit wise

 
Darn away ends

Tension:               22sts – 4” (10cm)

 

Large  Premature Baby or Small/Early Newborn

Measurements:  11″ circumference,  5½“ high

 
Cast on 59sts

1st Row:         S1, knit to end of row

Repeat this row 5 times more
7th Row:        S1, knit to end

8th Row:        S1, p2, * k2, p4, repeat from * to last 2sts, k2

9th Row:        S1, knit to end

10th Row:       S1, k1, * p4, k2, repeat from * to last 3sts, p2, k1

Repeat the last 4 rows five times more

31st Row:       S1, knit to end

32nd Row:      S1, purl to last st, k1


Shape Top ~

Next Row:      S1, k2tog,*k3, k2tog, repeat from * to last st, k1           (47sts)

Next Row:      S1, purl to last st, k1

Next Row:      K2tog, *k2, k2tog, repeat from * to last st, k1               (35sts)
